My First 30 Days at Accept

As of today, I have been with Accept Corporation for just over a month and I want to share some of my thoughts on the first weeks here.

Let me start by sharing that I have been trying to join Accept for over eight months. I believe very deeply that Accept is creating a new category of software that can bring disruptive impact and deliver great value to our customers and market. I am deeply excited to contribute my years of experience in CRM, Product Management and Sales to driving the best year yet for Accept.

My entire 25+ year career has been focused on how a business delivers valuable software on-time, on-budget with the features that customers will buy. I've been involved with two startups offering products similar to Accept. Through those experiences I learned just how difficult and complex it is to implement this product innovation management idea in a software technology. And that is Accept's Distinctive Competence: the ability to build and deliver on this promise. Remember that Distinctive Competence is not the same as Distinctive Value.

Recognizing that Accept has ‘cracked the code' for our unique category of Product Innovation Management indicates several things about the company:

  • the depth and level of professionalism of the team to create and deliver unique value,
  • the intelligence and will of the leadership team to deliver our value proposition to the market, and
  • the time for our disruptive idea is here.

I had several opportunities to choose from when making my decision last month. The criteria I used to evaluate career choices are three simple truths:

  • Do I believe in and trust the leadership team?
  • Do I believe in and trust the implementation and sales team?
  • Do I believe in and trust the product?

Accept was a no-brainer when evaluated against these criteria. And That is why I am here at Accept.
